JEA Builders Care Workday |

April 11, 2008 – Employees from JEA took time out of their busy schedule to give back. They were separated in groups because two homes were worked on. They painted the exterior part of the houses, cleaned up the homeowner's yards and trimmed a tree that was causing roof damage. Voncea Fuller, community outreach coordinator for JEA, teamed up with Builders Care to get everything organized. Peggy West, a Builders Care board member and development coordinator for JEA, was the onsite manager. West said that JEA employees loved the team work and several of them had wanted to know how often Builders Care had these kinds of workdays. "I have spoken with some of our employees and I was told that it was so rewarding for them to be able to help someone," West said. West said JEA promotes community involvement, and what better way of giving back to the community than helping Builders Care and the homeowner. It has been rewarding to West because all she has to do is ask her coworkers to volunteer and they immediately jump on board. "Who knows, maybe next year we will be able to do four houses," West said. |
