Miss Edith is 76 years old, on a fixed income and her daughter who has the extremely painful eye disease, Corneal Dystrophy, lives with her.
In June 2014 they noticed the roof leaking so she contacted a contractor she had used in the past and paid him $1,500 to fix the problem. She paid him up front as he requested but didn’t see him again until she was watching the news and they ran a story about how this same contractor was ripping people off throughout Jacksonville.
She was still paying off the money she had borrowed while her roof continued to leak. She was referred to Builders Care, who agreed to help after hearing this tragic story. The roof leak has stopped and Ms. Edith is delighted to be free from water intrusion after a year and a half.
